We’re currently scouting for a

Manager, Business Development, Asia (Shanghai)

...responsible for identifying potential opportunities and developing the tactics and teams needed to bring them to fruition, focusing on highly strategic niche markets within the small area and print curing industries; Actively supporting the business development function in an effective, aggressive manner and being responsible for achieving the company’s objectives related to revenue and business development within specific emerging markets or customer accounts. Key activities include strategic planning, new product development/introduction and business development.

If your track record shows you can...

  • Establish revenue objectives for new market segments on an annual basis, and develop plans to achieve these objectives.
  • Develop and execute rigorously developed business plans with solid market research within a “team environment” that result in achieving the revenue targets, profitability, and increased shareholder value.
  • Track and report execution via monthly and quarterly reports/ presentations.
  • Work with the Vice President of Corporate Development and the relevant senior managers within Marketing, R&D and Operations to achieve the organizational support necessary to enter the new markets, expand our internal business processes, and support the growth in revenue.
  • Actively explore, profile and submit for evaluation new technology/ product/ business opportunities in new larger niche markets.
  • Develop regionally specific product definitions and communicate requirements to product management and R&D at the head office.
  • Recommend and where appropriate coordinate the establishment of sales channels.
  • Manage strategic relationships with sales channels/key accounts within the mandate of Business Development and complementary industries.
  • Recommend the timing and process for the transition of responsibility for each emerging market development once business activity has reached a level of maturity where it can be smoothly transitioned into the core.

And if you have...

  • A Business and/or Engineering/Technology Degree (from a recognized educational institution) in a related discipline(s).
  • Must have a minimum 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent capability to analyze and develop business models and prepare ROI justification for new business opportunities using sound and mature business judgement.
  • Excellent understanding and practical ability in strategic planning and execution.
  • Understanding of technologies and applications for LUMEN DYNAMICS current product lines.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing functions, product development, product/ technology road mapping.
  • Excellent English verbal, oral and written communication skills for report writing, high impact presentations, documentation etc.
  • Fluent in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and management skills suitable for establishing strong relationships with high level managers in partnering companies.
  • Experience with global travel preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
  • Memberships in organizations or associations related to the business of the company.
  • Computer proficiency on common Microsoft Office products
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and severe time constraints within rapidly changing work and business conditions
  • Ability to work independently and remotely from the head office with limited infrastructure support
