Mississauga, Canada, March 22, 2012 - Lumen Dynamics Group Inc. (LDGI), a market leader in the global design, manufacture, and marketing of light-based delivery systems, has entered into a cross-licensing of intellectual property (IP) patents with UK based Integration Technology Limited (ITL). This agreement will expand the accessibility of customers in the UV printing, coatings and adhesive markets to advance ultra-violet light-emitting diode (UV LED) technology and help to promote the adoption of UV LEDs.
Under the patents, users are able to control individual segments of a UV LED array to optimize performance, managing the power intensity across the array to optimize cure efficiency, and improve array servicability. The Lumen patent allows for optimization of performance and specifically addresses managing the varying power intensity across the array to optimise cure efficiency.
LDGI is committed to providing customer solutions through the innovative application of light within the life sciences, medical devices, optoelectronics and graphics digital printing markets. A pioneer in light technology, LDGI enhances the ability to control LEDs to achieve high output power, manage the operating temperature of LEDs and maintain the output of LEDs over their lifetime. The patent, filed in 2001 and granted in 2004, stems from extensive high power LED-array research work that LDGI performed in the late 1990s
"Lumen Dynamics's commitment to continuously be at the forefront of innovation and deliver leading UV curing solutions with the highest performance and simplicity led us to recognize the benefits of UV LED technology very early on when it first became available" says Allan Firhoj, President and CEO at LDGI. "LDGI continues to take significant strides towards technological innovation with a customer focus and bringing these two patents together not only strengthens both companies' portfolios of UV LED curing solutions but reinforces our position as a pioneer in UV LED curing property rights."

Lumen Dynamics wraps up another successful show at the MD&M West show held on February 14th to 16th in Anahiem, CA. MD&M West has benefitted medtech professionals and leading medical OEM suppliers worldwide in bringing them together for access to comprehensive resources in every aspect of medical device development.
Recognized as the UV curing experts, Lumen Dynamics' OmniCure® group presented its broad portfolio of products with live demonstrations that allowed the continuous flow of visitors to view OmniCure®'s UV curing solutions in action. New this year, OmniCure® showcased its flagship product, the S2000 with its exclusive Closed-Loop Feedback in a setting that simulated the UV bonding of medical devices.
As part of OmniCure®'s continuous efforts to provide UV curing solutions that best meet the needs of assembly manufacturers, a new product concept referred to as Spiderweb was revealed at MD&M West. This revealing entailed a live demonstration where feedback was solicited from all visitors and which allowed us to gain valuable insight and validation of its true benefits to the market. Spiderweb enables production managers and supervisors the ability to monitor and control their OmniCure® S2000 UV curing systems remotely, saving them time and costs; a concept that resonated well with numerous visitors to the OmniCure® booth.
We look forward to continuing engaging assembly manufacturers worldwide and bringing new light-based curing solutions that serve the true needs of the market and help solve the common challenges faced in assembly manufacturing. We would like to thank everyone who visited us and participated in our live demonstrations at MD&M West and extend our invitation to visit us at future events.
